Phlebotomy Training
The phlebotomy program at Southwestern Michigan College gives students instruction and experience, through a variety of intrusive procedures, to draw blood samples from patients under the care and supervision of physicians or health care professionals. Students who graduate the phlebotomy program focus on courses in basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations.
