Animation Program

The animation program at Southwestern Oregon Community College prepares students to become professional animators. The program focuses on using computer applications and related visual and sound imaging techniques to manipulate images and information for film, video, still photographs, digital copy, soundtracks, and physical objects. Program courses include: specialized camerawork, equipment operation and maintenance, image capture, computer programming, dubbing, CAD applications, and application to specific commercial, industrial, and entertainment needs. Southwestern is located at the center of Oregon’s south coast known for its open beaches, scenic natural environment, abundant wildlife and recreational activities. The main campus is situated at 988 Newmark Avenue, Coos Bay and the other one is in Curry County. It is the only public college in the region.
