Culinary Arts Program

The culinary arts program at Southwestern Oregon Community College prepares students for a career as an executive chef, restaurateur, food and beverage manager, food writer, research chef, or a culinary educator. The program focuses on cooking related services in restaurants and other commercial food establishments. Southwestern is located at the center of Oregon’s south coast known for its open beaches, scenic natural environment, abundant wildlife and recreational activities. The main campus is situated at 988 Newmark Avenue, Coos Bay and the other one is in Curry County. It is the only public college in the region.

You can choose from its extensive array of classes for certificate programs and college transfer degrees, as well as testing like GED, Business Development Center services, professional and continuing education. Many of these degree and certificate programs are available in the Curry Campus and via Distance Learning online.
