Wharton County Junior College was founded in 1946 in Wharton, Texas. The school operates three satellite campuses in addition to the main campus in Wharton. These campuses are located in Richmond, Sugarland, and Bay City. Wharton County Junior College provides degree, certificate and continuing education programs for its community.
