The Wright Institute

The Wright Institute, located in Berkeley, California, was founded Nevitt Sanford after his departure from Stanford University. The school was formed to continue and energize the conversation between Marx and Freud. Over the years the school has gone through and redefined its program offerings, eventually forming the doctor of psychology programs and adding the master of counseling psychology program. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Academics

The Wright Institute is dedicated to educating clinicians in psychology through its two program offerings. Students of the program will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to apply psychological practices in a clinical environment, assisting patients by providing care and therapy. Admissions and Financial Aid

Students wishing to enroll at the Wright Institute must supply certain information and meet established criterion in order to be considered for admission. The master program requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA o0f 3.0 earned. The doctoral program requires a 4-6 page statement of purpose, a complete resume covering all non–academic years, a breakdown of skills, three letters of recommendation and all relevant transcripts, as well as a 3.0 GPA from previous education.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, scholarships and work study programs. Students in need of aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which will be used to determine eligibility and awards.
