Blessing Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Technology
518 W Prospect St, Smithville, OH
Medical Laboratory Technician students complete an associate degree course of study including prerequisite courses from an approved college or university prior to enrolling at Blessing Hospital. The prerequisite courses include 4 hours of general Chemistry, twelve hours of Biology, including Anatomy and Physiology I and II and Microbiology. Blessing School of MLT has developed a course of study with John Wood Community College that culminates in the student obtaining an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
MLT students complete 14 months of academic and clinical experience at Blessing Hospital. Students are then eligible to apply for national certification as an MLT.
The program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
