Carnegie Institute

The Carnegie Institute School of Allied Health Technology was founded in 1947 as a postsecondary school with a mission to assess health care support service needs and develop specialized accredited programs to fulfill those needs.
Licensed by the Michigan State Department of Education, it was the first school of its kind to get such recognition in the state, and one of the first in the country to offer a structured Medical Assistant program. Since then, it has the privilege of being the first to be accredited for a number of programs in the State of Michigan. Originally opened in Detroit, the campus’s current location is on the Stephenson Highway in Troy, Michigan.
The institute currently offers no less than a dozen sub-baccalaureate programs in the field of allied health care services. The courses are:
