Known for its exceptional nursing care, the Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing started in 1925 and it was sponsored by the Holy Name Medical Center. The Registered Nurse program of this school has grown as one of the leading nurse diploma programs in New Jersey with its affiliation with the St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ. This program received an accreditation from the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

With a collaborative agreement, students can also opt to take additional college credits to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS degree) degree in Health Sciences from the St. Peter’s College. They can also continue to a Bachelor's degree in four year institutions.

In 1972, this school started offering the Practical Nurse program which concludes with a diploma in just 12 months. This program is accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
