Massage Therapy Program

The massage therapist program at Medical Institute of Palm Beach prepares students for a career in massage therapy in hospitals and wellness centers, nursing homes, health clubs and fitness centers, cruise ships, and spas or resorts. The program focuses on providing relief and improved health and well-being to clients through the application of manual techniques for manipulating skin, muscles, and connective tissues. Medical Institute of Palm Beach

The Medical Institute of Palm Beach (MIPB) in Florida was founded by Doug McVay in 2004 on a site at Lake Worth. In 2011, it was relocated to Greenacres to accommodate its growing student influx. The school is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education Florida Department of Education and accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.

MIPB’s mission is to fulfill the educational and professional needs of motivated individuals by offering courses in fields with high career potential. The school’s purpose is to provide quality education that leads to meaningful careers in the medical and allied health industries.

MIPB offers four course options:

  • Medical Assistant
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Massage Therapy
  • Home Health Aide

Each course is designed to provide quality instruction in a high-tech environment that includes internet access, central heating and air conditioning and software packages for research and instruction. Facilities on campus include a student’s lounge, computer lab, medical lab and a library. Students with disabilities are given accommodation, assistance and handicap access to facilities such as classrooms, bathrooms and the student’s lounge.

As of 2012, there were 272 enrolled students, of whom everyone received financial aid in the form of loans. In addition, 90% of the students received grants and/or scholarships. Average aid received per student from all sources was between $4,000 and $6,600.

The school also operates a Placement Department that actively sources job opportunities for its graduating students.
