Saint Francis Medical Center School of Nursing
601 Hamilton Ave, Trenton, NJ
Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing has a long and storied history dating back to its founding in 1905. Its original intent was to educate nuns to become nurses at adjacent St Francis Medical Center, a hospital complex that traces its roots all the way back to 2877.
Today St Francis Medical Center College of Nursing offers fully accredited degrees at all levels – bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN); and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). This is a private Catholic school and its mission and values reflect those of St. Francis of Assisi – caring for the sick, the injured, and the poor. The College also emphasizes the promotion and maintenance of good health. The relationship between the College and the Medical Center provides direct clinical experience for students.
Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing takes student financial aid a step beyond the ordinary. Certainly they help with the tedious task of completing forms and offer advice on the standard means of financing an education.
They also have a pipeline to resources in the local community students might never consider on their own. In addition, they offer an attractive program called the Modified Education and Employment Program (MEEP). This unique program provides $4,000 per semester to qualifying students willing to stay on at Saint Francis and work as a bedside nurse. The best part is once the commitment is completed, the school forgives the debt – all of it.
Saint Francis is located in Peoria and despite what you may have heard, there is a lot “playing in Peoria.” Finally, not all schools can provide testimonial after testimonial from satisfied and enthusiastic students.
