Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing (STAC)

Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing is registered by the New York State Education Department and has earned an accreditation status from the New York State Board of Regents and the New York State Commissioner of Education. It is also affiliated with several nursing organizations such as the National League of Nursing and National Organization of Associate Degree Nursing, among others. With its affiliation with the Northeast Health, this school works closely with the Memorial School of Nursing.

Since it was established in 1903, this school has prepared thousands of students for a fulfilling and rewarding career in nursing. Associate degree and Practical Nurse Certificate programs are offered to provide strong foundation for students to become competent nurses. Located at 2215 Burdett Avenue, Troy, NY 12180, Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing campus provides comprehensive and sophisticated learning resources. Classroom instructions are conducted within the hospital’s premises while the hands-on trainings are held at fully equipped learning laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment designed to simulate a real hospital setting and practice patient care.

Students are also given the opportunity to have real-world experience in long term and acute care settings including the Samaritan Hospital, Albany Memorial Hospital, Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, South Troy Health and On Call Center, Albany Medical Center Hospitals, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital.  Apart from these settings, they are also trained at local physician’s offices, childcare centers and elementary schools.
