Phlebotomy Training
The phlebotomy program at The Manhattan Institute gives students instruction and experience, through a variety of intrusive procedures, to draw blood samples from patients under the care and supervision of physicians or health care professionals. Students who graduate the phlebotomy program focus on courses in basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations. The Manhattan Institute, officially known as The Manhattan Institute of the City of New York, is a family-owned career college offering short-term courses in the field of allied health. Accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and licensed by the New York State Education Department-Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision, the institute is “dedicated to empowering individuals with the skills, knowledge, practical training and experience needed for a successful career in the growing and rewarding fields of allied health care.”
Home to nearly 1,000 students enrolled in various courses, the institute offers programs such as Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, Certified Nurse Assistant, Dialysis Technician, Medical Biller and more. Starting from as little as two-week duration, these courses are designed to deliver high-quality education in convenient schedules and formats to make students employment-ready in their chosen field of study in the shortest time possible.
Though rare, the institute does consider students for “Advanced Standing” at the discretion of the Education Director. In addition, transfer of credits to other colleges will be at the discretion of the receiving college; there is no articulate agreement between The Manhattan Institute and any other school of higher learning.
Students of the institute can avail of special discounts for nursing and medical equipment at the school store, known as V-Med. In addition, only a part of the tuition fee is payable on registration – the rest can be paid weekly. For Medical Assistant students, financial aid may also be available.
