Nursing Program

The nursing program at Berea College prepares students for careers in hospitals, convalescent centers, clinics, home care, and physician's offices. Berea College, located in Berea, Kentucky, was founded in 1855 by abolitionists and radical reformers. The school continues its purpose of promoting the cause of Christ by providing a faith based liberal arts education to its students. Berea College is four year private institution, providing bachelor degrees to its graduates. The school is non-sectarian and progressive in its Christian beliefs.  The school's primary focus is the betterment of the Appalachian region, primarily through education, but also through other programs and events.

Description

Demonstrate and teach patient care in classroom and clinical units to nursing students. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.

Registered Nurses

Description

Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration required.
