Blue Mountain College
1500 Peachtree St, Jackson, MS
Blue Mountain College, located in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, was founded by confederate civil war general Mark P. Lowrey. Lowrey, a pastor, founded the school as a women's institute and the initial name given was the Blue Mountain Female Institute. Lowrey and his two daughters ran the institute, followed by Lowrey's two sons and grandson. Over time the school was given over to the Mississippi Baptist Convention, and in 2005 became a fully coeducational institution.

Students wishing to enroll must submit an application along with application fee and housing deposit, all transcripts, ACT or SAT scores and immunization forms.
