Nursing Program
The nursing program at Edgewood College prepares students for careers in hospitals, convalescent centers, clinics, home care, and physician's offices. About
Edgewood College, located in Madison, Wisconsin, was founded in 1927 in the Dominican Catholic tradition. The school is based on the shore of Lake Wingra, on a 55 acre campus on the western end of Madison. The school was formed through the donation of the Edgewood estate to the Dominican Sisters in 1873 by Cadwallader Washburn. Originally used to found a St. Regina Academy, a private boarding school for girls, which burned shortly after its opening. A second school was built, sacred heart, after which the school sought to add a junior college which it received approval for in 1927 and grew into Edgewood College.
Academics
Edgewood College offers a variety of courses and programs in a number of fields of study, primarily taught through a comprehensive liberal arts curriculum. Students will take courses in general education, electives and upper and lower division level classes related to one's chosen major. In addition, students may pursue a secondary minor degree through a series of courses required by the minor program.
