The criminology program at Virginia Union University prepares students for careers as a police officer, corrections officer, forensic science technician, probation and community control officer, and loss prevention specialist. Virginia Union University is a nonprofit private historically black institution located in Richmond, Virginia. Many historically black colleges and universities (also known as HBCUs) were founded after the civil war to provide newly freed African Americans with educational opportunities.
