Journalism Degree

The journalism program at Morrisville State College prepares students for careers as a print journalist, local reporter, news editor, public relations assistant, advertising coordinate, news manager, or communication consultant. The program focuses on theory and the practice of gathering, processing, and delivering news. Morrisville State College

Morrisville State College, located in Morrisville, New York, is a college within the State University of New York. The school has two campuses, one in Morrisville and the other in Norwich, serving those areas as both a two year and four year institution.

At one point the college was considered one of the most technologically advanced in the country. The school maintains its interest in remaining competitive,  offering new methods of education and increased quality of life, such as the recent program replace land lines in dormitories with cell phones for each student. The school was among the first to adopt campus wide wireless internet access.

Academics

Morrisville State College offers bachelor and associate degree programs, as well as a limited number of certificate programs. Initially the school was a junior college, but expanded to offer four year educational opportunities. The school has a large number of associate programs and a growing list of bachelor degree programs. The goal of the school is to provide a quality education that meets the needs of its students, whether such needs are vocational or academic.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students wishing to enroll at Morrisville State College must complete and submit the application, provide all transcripts and test scores, and be a high school graduate or equivalent. Students apply to particular programs rather than the school itself, thus different programs may have additional requirements that must be met for consideration.

Students in need of financial aid must obtain a federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) and submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The financial aid office may need additional information and it is advised that students consult the office during the financial aid application process. Awards are available in the form of grants, loans, and scholarships at the federal and state level.

Athletics

Previously a member of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA), Morrisville State College is now a member of the National College Athletics Association (NCAA), Division III. As a member of the NJCAA, the school had won several national championships. Athletic programs are available during specific seasons:
