University of South Carolina – Sumter

USC Sumter is an integral part of the University of Carolina system. The campus is located in the heart of the state, about 45 miles east of the capital of Columbia, South Carolina. It is the only campus that used to be part of Clemson University. The school joined the University of South Carolina system in 1973 and today has an enrollment of about 1,000 per academic year. USC Sumter confers two-year associate's degrees and offers baccalaureate degree programs in business administration, elementary education, nursing, early childhood education, and interdisciplinary studies.
In-state tuition at the Sumter campus is $2,946 per semester. In-state tuition for the Aiken courses is $4,367.
At the USC campus students can earn an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or a graduate degree. The bachelor’s degree offerings in business administration, elementary education, early childhood education, liberal studies and organizational leadership meet the educational needs of most students without having to leave Sumter. Programs that allow students to transfer to a four year institute are available in engineering, pharmacy, biology, computer science, criminal justice, media arts without loss of any credit.
USC-Sumter offers services on Shaw Air Force Base. The college is proud to help those who serve our country. Services offered include placement testing, admissions, academic advisement, course registration, and tuition processing.
USC Sumter offers eight week semesters on Shaw Air Force Base. Members of the military can also take day and night classes at the Sumter campus.
