J.F. Ingram State Technical College is a public two-year institution located in Deatsville, Alabama. The school strives to offer outstanding education to a diverse population including postsecondary certification, adult education and incarcerated adults. Programs are offered at the following correctional facilities: Frank Lee (Ingram Main Campus), Staton, Tutwiler, Elmore, Kilby, Red Eagle, Donaldson, and Columbiana.

The college was established in 1965 as J. F. Ingram State Technical Institute. It was developed to teach incarcerated women and men and prepare them for life outside of prison.

Technical programs will get you back into the workforce. J.F. Ingram State Technical College offers programs in Automotive Body Repair, Automotive Technology, Barbering, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, Commercial Sewing, Cosmetology, Electrical Technology, Floristry, Furniture Refinishing, welding, and Horticulture.

Ingram State Technical College has instituted an Early Alert Warning system using Alliant software. The goal is to identify at-risk individuals and help them to succeed. This innovative technology helps faculty and staff provide the support they need.

The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are programs within Student Support Services at Ingram State Technical College. These programs were developed to help low income students. The goal was to improve academic skills and overcome any barriers to obtaining an education.

J.F. Ingram State Technical College has been helping the community for almost 50 years. It continues to provide the incarcerated with the skills they need to be successful upon their release. The college is student centered and always puts students at the forefront of education.
