Athens Technical College (UTS)
4 West 43rd Street, New York, NY
Athens Technical College, located in Athens Georgia, was founded in 1958 when it was first known as the Athens Area Vocational-Technical School. The school was renamed in 1987 to Athens Area Technical Institute as part of its expanding role in the community. The current name was adopted in 2000, and was chosen because of the school's ability to issue associate degrees alongside more traditional technical certificates and diplomas. The school is one of the 25 that comprise the Technical College System of Georgia, a statewide system of colleges dedicated to promoting workforce development throughout the various counties of the state. ATC operates several campuses in a number of areas, including Elberton, Monroe, and Greensboro.
