CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is one of several colleges within the City University of New York system. BMCC is an urban, two-year college with a diverse population. It is dedicated to providing programs in liberal arts, general education, with career training and continuing education programs. BMCC confers associate degrees in business, health, science and a range of vocations. Degree designations include Associate in Arts, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate in Science in 27 fields. Non-degree programs are also available, as are evening and weekend classes.
BMCC has won many award for its granting of Associate's Degrees to a large number of students and for its continuing education programs.
BMCC has at least 1,000 faculty members, comprised of both full time and adjunct professors. Some of the more notable alumni of BMCC include actress Gabourey Sidibe, actress and singer "Queen Latifah," and rock musician Stephen "Kid Chaos" Harris, among others.
History
CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College was founded in 1963. It originally offered business-focused and liberal arts degrees for busy professionals, or those planning to transfer to four-year universities. Throughout the 1960s, BMCC's courses were offered in many different buildings around midtown Manhattan. It did not have one central campus. After searching for a single campus location for many years, in 1983 BMCC established its current campus as five closely located sites in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan.

The academic calendar for CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College offers four terms: fall, winter, spring and summer. The winter term is a short, four-week session. The summer term is broken up into two shorter sessions.

Student Life
The Student Government Association (SGA) is very active on the BMCC campus, and represents students in academic, cultural and social endeavors and issues. There are several student clubs and organizations on campus, and student involvement is encouraged to help students with networking opportunities beyond the classroom.
Traditions
The BMCC school colors are blue and white, and the school mascot is the panther. The athletic teams are nicknamed the BMCC "Panthers."

Community Life
The learning centers on the campus of BMCC are located in the Tribeca community of Manhattan in New York City.
