About
Brevard Community College, located in Cocoa, Florida, is a two year public institution founded in 1960. Initially known as Brevard Junior College, in 1963 the school merged with Carver Junior College, a nearby public two year college that provided education to African-American residents, expanding its service area and resulting in a name change its current. The school moved to its present location shortly after the merger and has been providing county residents with quality education through its four campuses ever since.

Academics
Brevard Community College offers vocational, technical, and academic  transfer programs. The school's large number of programs offers students the opportunity to choose the one that best suits their career or academic goals. Career training and vocational programs provide students skill training and education related to a particular field, allowing them to enter the workforce as professionals upon graduation. Such programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a certificate or associate degree.

Students who wish to transfer to a four year institution will enter an associate program either for general education or with a specific major in mind, completing the freshman and sophomore years of a four year education at low cost prior to applying for transfer to a college or university. As colleges and universities will have different transfer requirements, it is recommended that students meet with an academic advisor to develop a curriculum that maximizes the chances for admission at one's desired school or schools.

Programs offered include:

Students may be required to provide additional tax and financial information prior to the disbursement of funds to ensure the SAR is true and accurate. Financial aid must be applied for prior to the start of each semester.
