Herkimer County Community College (HFCN)

Herkimer County Community College, located in Herkimer, New York, and was established in 1965 through the State University of New York System's approval. Classes began two years later with an initial enrollment of 221 students. The school was given a permanent campus in the Village of Herkimer in 1971 and has been expanding its enrollment and programs since. The school continues its tradition of growth and quality by reviewing and adding programs and services to meet current and future student needs.
Academics
Students enrolled at Herkimer County Community College are able to choose between career training and academic transfer programs. Career training programs offer an education that prepares an individual for a career in a high demand field or industry as a qualified professional. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a certificate or degree upon completion.
