Herkimer County Community College, located in Herkimer, New York, and was established in 1965 through the State University of New York System's approval. Classes began two years later with an initial enrollment of 221 students. The school was given a permanent campus in the Village of Herkimer in 1971 and has been expanding its enrollment and programs since.
