The Minnesota School of Cosmetology offers and in depth cosmetology program in a classroom and professional salon setting. The school offers basic and high end courses to teach individuals the methods and trends necessary to perform successfully as cosmetologists. Once the program is completed, graduates will be qualified to work as professionals in the beauty industry. MSC operates two campuses located in Plymouth and Woodbury, Minnesota.

Program Information

The Minnesota School of Cosmetology offers a number of training programs in the cosmetology industry.  In fact, they offer programs in cosmetology, hair, nails, and skin.  Each program comes with its own unique set of curriculum that include an array of courses for students to master.  For example, the cosmetology program includes a number of programs about the history of cosmetology and employment opportunities after graduation.  Students next learn about the basics of chemistry and electricity.   Chemistry basics help students understand chemicals and chemical reactions with respect to hair, nails, and skin.  The study of electricity helps students understand the basics of working with electrical equipment and light therapy.

Next, students will learn key life skills that include goal setting, time management, professionalism, and ethics.  Students will also learn a suite of transferrable skills in the salon business and business management.  Lastly, students will be exposed to a number of anatomy and physiology programs to better understand the human body.  Classes may include organs, the body system, skeletal system, respiratory system, circulatory system, and endocrine system to name a few.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Individuals interested in enrollment should contact a representative and make an appointment to visit the campus. The representative will assist in the application process. Financial aid is also available. Students will work with the school to examine financial aid options and review costs. All students should complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to begin the process of determining eligibility.
