Formerly called the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, the Schuylkill Health School of Nursing is private school that specializes in training students to become competitive nurses in the future. It is located in Pottsville in Pennsylvania and is considered to be the only nursing school in the state that has a high success rate in the licensure exam and job placement.
Established in 1895, the school is conveniently located in South Jackson Street where numerous buildings related to providing health care services are located. This is to provide students the opportunity to gain experience in patient care environment. In fact, the school was affiliated with the Schuylkill Medical Center where the students also do their practicum to gain real-life experiences in the hospital environment.
Currently, the tuition fee at Schuylkill Health School of Nursing is more than $10,000 annually which is still not inclusive of the laboratory fees, uniforms and student insurances. On the other hand, unlike other schools that offer the practical nursing program, the Schuylkill Health School of Nursing offers its program for three years which includes two years of nursing courses and one year of prerequisite university courses.
