About
Northeast State  Technical Community College, located in Blountville, Tennessee, was founded in 1966 when it was known as the Tri-State Area Vocational-Technical School. Within four years the schools focus was expanded to become a regional provider of vocational and technical training, expanding further in 1978 to offer one year certificates to graduates of the school's programs and associate degrees. Pellissippi State Community College, located in Knoxville Tennessee, was founded in 1974 as the State Technical Institute at Knoxville.
