The Greater Southern Tier BOCES (GST BOCES) is a great program for high school students looking to further their education. GST BOCES serves 21 different school districts in the Southern tier of the state of New York. Their central location is in Painted Post, NY. They have three different campuses to serve their students. Their campuses are Bush Campus, Coopers Campus and Wildwood Campus.
GST BOCES is an education service organization driven by customer need and a commitment to excellence, whose mission is to ensure the success of our diverse learners, parents, community members, schools and businesses by providing collaboratively inspired, cost-effective, quality programs in an atmosphere that is safe and supportive.
GST BOCES offers Career and Technical Education, Adult Education, Adult Literacy and Training, Summer School, Alternative Education and Special Education.
Career and Technical Education offers a variety of programs for students. Each of their difference campuses offers the following programs:
- Auto Body Repair
- Automotive Technology
- Building Construction
- CISCO Networking Academy
- Cosmetology
- Criminal Justice
- Culinary Arts
- Digital Media Arts
- Welding & Metal Fabrication
There are other programs offered at select campuses only. For example, Aviation Studies and Dental Assisting is only offered at the Bush Campus.
If you are interested in the adult education program, they offer Business and Industry Training, Career Training, Computer and Software Training, Health Care, Leisure Learning, and Literacy/GED classes. GST BOCES also offers short-term training programs for adults. These programs include Notary Public Preparation Class, Forklift Operators, and Security Guard Training.
