Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences has been educating nurses on the campus of Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pennsylvania for almost 120 years. The school’s RN program leads to a diploma in nursing, and general education courses qualify for college credit towards a BN (Bachelor in Nursing). In addition, the school has a vendor relationship with Alvernia University that allows graduates of the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences nursing program to qualify for an RN to BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) through Alvernia.
Reading also offers programs in clinical pastoral education, surgical technology, medical imaging, and paramedic education. The nursing program is fully accredited and offers specialization training in the following fields:

- Maternity
- Oncology, and
- Intensive care.
For those considering a career in nursing Reading offers a “Nursing Shadow Program” where interested parties can follow along with a Reading nursing student either during the day or night.
