About
Centre College, located in Danville, Kentucky, was founded in 1819 by the Presbyterian church. The school is a top liberal arts college, operating privately and conferring only undergraduate degrees. The school is nearly two centuries old, and has its name based on the map of the United States at the time of the founding, where the school would have been located at the approximate center. The school has had many notable graduates and has maintained a policy of rarely cancelling classes,  including those that would be cancelled due to federal holiday. This has become a point of pride, and best put through a quote by Dean John Ward “Centre didn't cancel classes during parts of the Civil War, we're not cancelling them now.”

Academics
Centre College is a liberal arts institution based upon a foundation of Presbyterianism. The school is dedicated to providing a well rounded education that allows students of a specific major to experience courses in areas outside of that major's expertise. Graduate's will earn a  bachelor's degree upon completion, typically taking four years to complete and involving a mixture of major related courses, general education requirements and the above mentioned cross-discipline electives. Students may also choose to earn a minor degree through the completion of additional courses in a secondary area of study.

Admissions and Financial Aid

High test scores, advanced placement courses, extracurricular academic achievements, and teacher recommendations are used alongside the application for admission  and transcripts when considering whether a student will be able to enroll at Centre College. If admitted, the student will be notified and be provided the information necessary to begin their academic career at the school.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.
